Know Jesus

God created us and loves us

We were made by God and made to know Him. Life is not an accident, and neither are you. God’s intention from the beginning has been a relationship with the people He created. (Genesis 1:26–27; John 3:16–17)

Something has gone wrong

Every one of us has sinned — we have gone our own way instead of God’s. That sin separates us from a holy God, and no amount of good behavior or religious effort can erase our guilt or repair the relationship on our own. (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23)

Who Jesus is and what He did

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He lived a life without sin, died on the cross for our sins, and rose bodily from the dead. His death paid what we could not pay, and His resurrection proves that He is who He said He is. (1 Corinthians 15:3–4; John 14:6)

Grace through faith — not earned

Salvation is God’s gift. It is received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not a reward for good works, and it cannot be bought or earned; it can only be received. (Ephesians 2:8–9)

What Jesus asks of you

God calls each of us to repent — to turn from our own way — to trust Jesus, and to confess Him as Lord. Jesus promises He will not turn away anyone who comes to Him. (Romans 10:9–10; John 6:37)

A simple prayer

If you want to trust Jesus, you can tell Him so in your own words. Here is one way to pray:

Lord Jesus, I need You. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. Forgive me, make me new, and lead my life. I place my trust in You. Amen.

The words themselves do not save you — Jesus does. Prayer is simply a way to express genuine faith in Him.

• Tell another Christian what you have done.
• Begin reading one of the Gospels — the Gospel of John is a good place to start.
• Talk to God in prayer every day.
• Be baptized, if you have not been.
• Become part of a faithful local church where the Bible is taught.
